On the afternoon of September 1st, all the teachers and students of Longgao gathered together. The opening ceremony kicked off with a warm-up video sharing the students' summer life.
During the commendation session, the school commended students who performed outstandingly in the previous academic year. The award-winning students cover multiple dimensions such as outstanding individual subject grades, significant academic progress, and overall academic excellence. School leaders presented them with honors, encouraging all students to take role models as strength and strive for excellence.
Subsequently, Gong Yuken, a student from Class 2301, took the stage as an outstanding student representative to share his valuable experience of participating in the UKCHO summer camp during the summer vacation. He mentioned that the opportunity to join the camp this time originated from the results of international competitions, and more importantly, it was inseparable from his strong interest in the field of chemistry and his proactive attitude. When talking about his experience at the summer camp, he said that this experience was both interesting and academic. It not only allowed him to get an early taste of the university learning mode but also enabled him to make many like-minded friends. At the same time, he also offered advice to his younger schoolmates: The key to choosing a study program does not lie in its "fame", but in whether it aligns with one's application direction and whether one can truly gain something during the process. Finally, he sincerely thanked his teacher for his meticulous guidance and his parents for their silent support.
Principal Zhang Qionghui delivered a speech at the ceremony, sharing the school's outstanding achievements over the past year. The graduates of 2025 have achieved outstanding results in their further education. The school was awarded the "Outstanding Center Award" by Edexcel Examination Board. The Elite School Camp courses have achieved phased results, with students performing outstandingly in various subject exams. Students have achieved remarkable results repeatedly in international competitions. In addition, many students visited domestic research institutions, top universities at home and abroad, and well-known enterprises during the summer vacation to conduct academic research and business practices, thus accumulating rich experience.
In the new academic year, Principal Zhang put forward three expectations and requirements to the students: First, they should persist in active learning, think more, ask more questions, explore more, dare to question, and make study plans in advance. Second, deepen interest exploration, delve deeply into the fields one truly loves, be courageous in overcoming difficulties, and strive for excellence. Third, enhance physical exercise. Besides regular physical education classes and ECA courses, actively participate in 40 minutes of physical activities every morning to build up your body through exercise.
At the end of the ceremony, there was a surprising "Back-to-School Lucky Star" draw session. The president of the student union drew lucky students on the spot and presented them with prizes.
