Recently, the results of the 2025 British Biology Olympiad (BBO) were announced. Students from Longgao stood out in the global competition, winning one global silver award (the student advanced to the China station of the British Biology Olympiad Training Camp), two global excellence awards and one global finational award.

The British Biology Assessment (BBO) is hosted by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB), a globally authoritative biological academic organization. Since its establishment in 1995, it has a history of nearly 30 years and is one of the longest-running and most influential science activities in British secondary schools. Every year, nearly 10,000 high school students in the UK participate, and now it has attracted many outstanding students from all over the world to join in. The BBO competition covers a wide range of fields, including animal anatomy and physiology, cell biology, genetics and evolution, plant anatomy and physiology, ecology, behavior, and biological taxonomy. It not only requires the participating students to have solid biological knowledge, It also places extremely high demands on students' reading ability, understanding of professional terms, ability to extract information from long articles, as well as the ability to analyze and solve problems. The difficulty of the questions often exceeds the content of the biology course in ordinary high schools and even approaches the level of the first year of university.

The award-winning students all expressed that this experience not only deepened their understanding of biology but also clarified their future development direction.
