Students from Longgao won gold and silver MEDALS in the 2025 UK Chemistry Assessment (UKChO)

Recently, the results of the 2025 UK Chemistry Olympiad (UKChO for short) were announced. Students from Longgao School stood out in this top global chemistry academic competition with their solid professional knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills, winning two gold MEDALS and four silver MEDALS at one go. Among them, the gold award-winning students advanced to the British Chemistry Olympiad Training Camp (China Station) and the Cambridge Chemistry Training Camp. The silver award-winning students advanced to the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge Training Camp (China Station) and the British Chemistry Olympiad Training Camp (China Station), achieving remarkable results and attracting much attention.

The UKChO, hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), is the oldest, most academic and influential high school chemistry Olympiad in the UK. It aims to provide outstanding high school students with an extension of their school-based chemistry curriculum, cultivate their chemical thinking and abilities, and prepare them for future academic learning and research at university. It attracts numerous outstanding students from all over the world to participate every year. The competition questions are highly challenging. They not only require students to master solid chemical knowledge but also to have the ability to flexibly apply knowledge to practical problems. Many questions are designed based on papers in top academic journals such as Nature and Science, fully testing students' academic literacy and innovative thinking.

The outstanding achievements made in the UKChO competition this time are not only an affirmation of the personal efforts of the award-winning students, but also a strong proof of the school's chemistry education results.
