"Chasing Dreams in the Sky: Empowering with Science and Technology Innovation - Longgao Launches Technology Experience Activities.

Author:Lixiaodan Release time:26/6/18

To broaden students' scientific and technological horizons, enhance their practical abilities and career awareness, Longgao organized students from grades 10 and 11 to visit the Low Altitude Economics College of China Three Gorges Polytechnic University in batches on June 17th and 18th to carry out learning and experience activities on the drone project, creating an immersive "walking moral education classroom".

During the activity, the students first visited the CAAC training site to learn about the training and assessment process for drone pilots as well as various professional flight training subjects. A series of wonderful flight performances were staged one after another, including aerobatic flights of FPV aircraft and complete takeoff and landing demonstrations of fixed-wing model aircraft, vividly showcasing the different performance characteristics of the two types of aircraft.

In the industry drone exhibition area, professional models equipped with mapping, thermal imaging, and loudspeaker devices were neatly displayed. The instructor explained the wide application of drones in multiple fields such as agriculture, power, emergency rescue, and mapping, allowing everyone to experience the prospects of the low-altitude economic industry. Subsequently, the teachers and students entered the professional laboratory to observe the flight control, sensors, 3D printing equipment and other components, and learned about the entire process of unmanned aerial vehicle research and development, assembly and operation.

The most beloved flight simulation experience session sees students working in groups to practice operations such as takeoff, landing, steering, and climbing of multi-rotor and fixed-wing aircraft. Through hands-on control, they enhance their hands-on and collaborative skills. At the end of the activity, teachers and students gathered to summarize and exchange, and sort out the gains from the study tour.

This drone experience activity breaks through the limitations of traditional classrooms and integrates cutting-edge technology, vocational science popularization and moral education cultivation. In real-scene practical operations, students got up close and personal with the principles, programming and flight techniques of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This not only ignited their interest in exploring the cutting-edge technologies of low-altitude aviation, but also honed their engineering thinking, innovation ability and teamwork skills. Moreover, in real professional scenarios, they established a scientific and technological concept of safety norms and seeking truth from facts.
