On the afternoon of January 9th, the third parent class of Longgao was successfully held. This issue's parent class focuses on the question: "What English courses should one take when attending an international school?" With the theme of "Exploring a Win-win Path for English Learning and Standardized Tests", it attracted many parents who care about their children's English learning and academic planning to participate.
Xiang Ying, the head of the school's English teaching and research group, served as the main speaker and systematically introduced the setting ideas and teaching system of our school's English courses. Teacher Xiang pointed out that our school's English courses not only focus on whether students can meet the minimum language requirements of overseas universities, but also attach great importance to cultivating their academic English proficiency needed for future university studies. For students with different development directions, the differentiated and tiered English course arrangements set up from the first to the third year of high school emphasize that the course design always revolves around the three core abilities of "academic reading ability", "academic writing and expression ability", and "adaptability to an all-English learning environment", helping students adapt to the all-English learning environment in universities more quickly.
In response to common concerns among parents such as "when to start preparing for standardized tests like IELTS", specific suggestions were given to teachers. It was also called on parents to pay attention to the learning process, avoid "fake learning", and maintain communication with the school to jointly set reasonable goals.
