On the afternoon of September 30th, the first "Principal's Afternoon Tea" home-school symposium of Longgao High School in the autumn semester of 2025 was held warmly. Representatives of parents from the senior three grade and school leaders sat together in a relaxed conversation to explore the direction of education and gather the joint efforts of home and school for children's growth.
Principal Zhang Qionghui, with the theme of "Cultivation and Prospect", comprehensively reviewed the school's exploration and improvement in education and teaching, habit formation, and campus activities in the nearly one month since the start of the school year. For instance, she explored the GUIDE teaching method designed to suit the academic situation of senior high schools, guiding students to become in-depth participants and constructors of knowledge. Activities such as the 40-minute project-based morning exercise every day and the autumn sports carnival are carried out in an orderly manner. Meanwhile, Principal Zhang also shared the key points of work for October, enabling parents to have a clear understanding of the campus dynamics.
Subsequently, Vice President Wang Jiang focused on the topic of "study abroad application" and delivered a special presentation. Combining the recent trends of studying abroad with the application cases of our school's students, she provided practical suggestions from dimensions such as "key nodes of studying abroad application", "formulation and confirmation of studying abroad application plans", and "regulations on the use of electronic devices", especially emphasizing the importance of "early planning and emphasis on practice". The parents on the spot took notes carefully.
During the most anticipated "Q&A Interaction" session, the school leaders answered each of the key questions collected before the meeting one by one, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere on the spot. The symposium concluded with a "warm dialogue", where parents voluntarily shared their parenting experiences, and school leaders sincerely listened to the parents' suggestions on the school's work.
The "Principal's Afternoon Tea" is one of the regular home-school communication mechanisms in our school. In the future, more special events will be held to continuously build a bridge of trust between home and school and jointly create a high-quality growth environment for students.
