Youth never ceases, and food education conveys emotions. Recently, in order to cultivate the practical labor skills of high school students and carry forward the Chinese culinary culture, Longgao has launched a dumpling-making food education class for all students. By using the skills of fingertips, it endows students with life skills that will benefit them for a lifetime, so that those who will go to foreign countries in the future can also comfort their homesickness with the delicious food of their hometown.
At the event site, the cafeteria workers transformed into mentors, teaching hands-on skills such as handling dumpling wrappers, proportioning fillings, and folding and sealing. The students stood around the operation table. Some tried to make crooked yet creative dumplings for the first time, while others skillfully crafted exquisite shapes. They shared their experiences with each other, and laughter never ceased.
Dumplings are not only delicious food, but also the taste of home. When the steaming hot dumplings were taken out of the pot, the students tasted the fruits of their labor and all said, "These are the most fragrant dumplings." Some students even joked that they would take their skills abroad to let the world taste the deliciousness of China.
This event combines labor education with career development, enabling students to master practical skills and laying a foundation for the future dissemination of Chinese culinary culture. In the future, the school will continue to deepen the food education curriculum to facilitate the all-round growth of students.
